Our Story

Fridays on the Canal was born from a simple idea: bring the Scottsville community together through great music, local flavors, and a shared love for our historic town. What began as a vision to create a welcoming space for locals and visitors alike is now becoming a reality.

Set in the heart of Canal Basin Square, our monthly concert series brings live performances, local food and craft drinks, and vibrant vendors to a backdrop that celebrates everything we love about Scottsville.

This event was dreamed up and driven by the team behind Mr. Z’s BBQ, and made possible with the support of local sponsors, the Town of Scottsville, the Scottsville Chamber of Commerce, and a whole crew of amazing business owners, volunteers, and neighbors who bring the energy to every event.

Together, we’ve worked hand-in-hand with the Town of Scottsville and the Scottsville Chamber of Commerce to bring this vision to life. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, we hope Fridays on the Canal gives you a reason to stay a little longer and celebrate all that makes our town special.
